Dubai shoves 17 startups into Scale360 frenzy

IFZA started Scale360 to help entrepreneurs expand operations in the United Arab Emirates market through a partnership with Plug and Play. The free program received 136 applications from global technology companies, and organizers narrowed selections to 56 candidates before choosing 17 ventures for the initial group. Participants begin on Monday, Sept. 29, and receive three months of mentorship, licensing assistance, and access to investors and government partners.

United Arab Emirates technology startups raised $872 million during the first quarter of 2025, representing an 865 percent increase from the previous year. Dubai attracted 135 percent more digital startups compared with the first quarter of 2024, and the city accounted for 96 percent of capital raised across the Emirates. Program participants will attend GITEX Week from Oct. 13 to 17, and present during Demo Week in late November.
