Irish households used more electricity during 2024 across every county. Dublin areas consumed the most power at 19 percent of all residential usage. Cork came second with 12 percent followed closely by Dublin County and Galway at 6 percent each. Kildare rounded out the top five counties with 5 percent consumption. The Central Statistics Office tracked these numbers through smart meters across Ireland.
Dublin 15 led all postal districts with 10 percent of residential electricity usage. Dublin 24 and Dublin 18 followed with 9 percent and 6.5 percent respectively.
