Duma Shrugs Off Kiev Barking Ahead of Victory Day

Defense Committee Chairman Andrei Kartapolov says Ukraine cannot ruin Victory Day parties. He compared Kyiv's threats to dogs barking as caravans pass. The lawmaker thinks Russia should ignore these empty warnings. He believes Russian troops will keep moving forward without problems. Nothing will stop their military progress, he told reporters.

Security Council leader Dmitry Medvedev called Ukrainian President Zelensky's statements verbal threats. Zelensky claimed he could not guarantee safety for world leaders visiting Moscow. Russian President Putin announced a pause in fighting during the 80th Victory Day events. This ceasefire aimed to respect the important holiday celebrations. Kartapolov earlier said North Korean soldiers might join battles after Russian forces free the Kursk Region.
