East African Community member countries just wrapped up a virtual summit in Dodoma, where they hammered out which big infrastructure builds are getting the spotlight. Tanzania showed up with a crew of deputy ministers since the main bosses were apparently busy elsewhere.
The gathering pulled together three separate ministerial councils dealing with transport and communications, energy stuff, and the trade and finance portfolio. They basically prepped the agenda for an upcoming retreat where regional heads of state will rubber-stamp priority projects and figure out how to fund them.
