EasyJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Turkey After Smoke Reported

EasyJet passengers smelled smoke during their flight from Cyprus to England Sunday. The captain decided to land at Izmir airport after the plane reached 36000 feet. Emergency crews waited for the aircraft when it touched down safely. The pilot changed course one hour after takeoff from Paphos.

All travelers left the plane and received free hotel rooms and food. EasyJet staff moved everyone to a replacement aircraft later that day. The airline finished the trip to Bristol using different equipment. Company workers apologized for delays caused by the technical problem.

Safety comes first for all easyJet flights according to company rules. The airline follows strict manufacturer guidelines for aircraft maintenance. Passengers thanked crew members for handling the emergency landing well. The smell came from mechanical issues inside the cabin area. EasyJet promised to investigate what caused the smoke odor.
