Edo gov to sign death warrants for kidnappers

The new Edo governor promises to execute kidnappers after fair trials. He recently approved tougher kidnapping laws that include death by hanging for convicted offenders. Governor Okpebholo told northern community leaders in Esan land that he takes security very seriously. His administration plans to demolish properties used for kidnapping activities. They will build vigilante offices on these confiscated lands.

Okpebholo wants better security personnel who receive proper salaries. He believes that unpaid people wearing uniforms create problems. The governor plans to hire trained vigilantes who work alongside regular security forces. He aims to solve community issues immediately rather than waiting until election time. His administration will install streetlights, build proper slaughterhouses, and fence markets.

Northern community chairman Bawa Umar thanked the governor for restoring peace and promised full support from Arewa residents living in Edo State. Cattle market leader Alhaji Muhammad appreciated how the governor handled recent tensions in Uromi. A retired general asked northern leaders to create membership databases and encouraged them to monitor their community members closely to prevent criminal activity.
