Ego Nwodim Gets SNL Crowd to Drop F Bomb

Ego Nwodim shocked herself when audiences cursed during her Saturday Night Live sketch. The comedian played Miss Eggy and asked viewers a question during Season 50. Studio crowds yelled a bad word back at her character. NBC aired the curse word live on television across America. Show writers never expected people would shout anything back.

The actress told reporters she felt stunned when audiences responded with profanity. Standards and practices stopped the show from repeating the same question again. Television networks must follow rules about curse words during certain hours. SNL airs after 10:30 at night when children should be sleeping. Late night shows can broadcast more adult content than daytime programs.

Nwodim enjoyed improvising with the live crowd during her performance. She called the experience rewarding and fun despite potential problems. The Federal Communications Commission might fine networks for broadcasting curse words. West Coast viewers saw a cleaned version without the bad language. NBC used time delays to remove profanity from later broadcasts.
