Apple to Drop 60B Chip Bomb on TSMC

According to market experts, Apple might order up to $60 billion in chips from TSMC. The Taiwanese company could earn NT$1 trillion in revenue in 2025 from these orders. This growth comes as TSMC makes more parts for various Apple products. Their Arizona factories will play an important role in meeting demand. Apple remains the largest customer for these American-based production facilities.

TSMC saw its 3-nanometer chip revenue jump to 22% of total earnings this quarter. The company started using new manufacturing methods for smaller, more advanced chips. Analysts predict Apple may spend about $33 billion on next-generation 2-nanometer chips alone. TSMC earned $90 billion in total revenue last year across all customers. The company continues to increase its presence in Apple devices everywhere.

If predictions prove accurate, this represents about 60% growth in orders. Some experts expect a range between NT$800 billion and NT$1 trillion for 2025. Success depends on how quickly Arizona plants start production. TSMC faces competition from Samsung and Intel in advanced chip manufacturing. Intel aims to start similar production under new leadership next year.
