TSMC could surpass Apple in market value by 2030 amid AI boom

TSMC could eclipse Apple's market capitalization within five years as the chipmaker capitalizes on unprecedented demand for advanced semiconductor manufacturing, according to senior analyst Keithen Drury. While Apple struggles with stagnant revenue growth that has managed double-digit expansion only once since mid-2022, the Taiwanese foundry giant is becoming the linchpin of artificial intelligence infrastructure through its 2nm and upcoming 1.4nm production capabilities.

The manufacturer currently operates at near-capacity across multiple facilities, with plans to produce 100,000 monthly wafers by the end of 2026 and a massive $49 billion investment earmarked for next-generation nodes. TSMC's valuation stands at $1.4 trillion compared to Apple's $4 trillion, though Drury warns his projections depend on continued explosive growth in AI data center markets.
