Elgiboh scores with football push, men’s health takes the lead

A company in Zimbabwe that runs hotels, trucking operations, and hardware stores used a soccer tournament to trick dudes into getting their prostates checked. Elgiboh Group threw the event at Bulawayo Chiefs Village with teams like Highlanders Legends and Chicken Inn Supporters, knowing guys would show up for the matches and then get tested while they were there. Their HR boss said men are obsessed with soccer, so they baited them with games and slipped in the health screenings.

The whole thing was part of Movember, which is that campaign where people grow mustaches to raise awareness about prostate cancer and other stuff killing men. The company brought in doctors for talks and free testing on-site. Prostate cancer hits older guys the hardest, and catching it early makes a massive difference, but most people ignore the warning signs until it spreads and becomes deadly.
