Embracer offloads Cryptic and Arc Games, Remnant stays put

Embracer Group just dumped Cryptic Studios and Arc Games to some fresh outfit called Project Golden Arc that got bankrolled by XD Inc. The whole operation gets run by the Arc Games leadership squad who basically bought their own company back. Cryptic made a bunch of MMOs like Star Trek Online and Neverwinter while Arc handled publishing duties for years.

The deal brought Embracer around 30 million bucks but they kept the Remnant franchise rights for THQ Nordic since they already control the IP and Gunfire Games anyway. Fellowship Publishing got shifted over to Coffee Stain which is about to split off from Embracer and hit the Stockholm market next month. Chief Rebel keeps working on the game with 35 people pushing toward a full launch sometime next year after dropping the early access version back in October.
