Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa joins the AU-EU Summit

President Mnangagwa will participate in the seventh African Union-European Union Summit, addressing multilateral cooperation between continents that together represent over 40 percent of United Nations membership. Angolan head of state João Lourenço and European Council President António Costa will jointly chair proceedings marking 25 years of formalized partnership between the regional blocs, with participation from European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and African Union Commission Chair Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

The gathering provides Zimbabwe with an opportunity to advance diplomatic engagement with European counterparts while leaders discuss infrastructure development, climate resilience, conflict prevention and trade expansion. Europeans purchase over 90 percent of African exports duty-free under preferential agreements covering 19 nations, making the bloc the fourth-largest trading partner for African economies, accessing markets with 450 million consumers.
