Engels Ave Tram Tracks Get Turbo Makeover

Workers started fixing tram tracks on Engels Avenue near the Vyborg District. The city wants faster and quieter trains after the repairs finish. The project covers track sections from Siqueiros Street to Torez Avenue. Crews also work on the busy intersection at Ozerki metro station. Transport officials announced the modernization plans for the area.

Repair teams finished one section near the Ozerki Metro Station tram stop. They poured concrete padding and laid new rails on the tracks. Workers welded the rails together and put down concrete slabs. The old sleeper base got replaced with stronger concrete materials. Special welding methods help connect the metal rails properly.

Teams continue laying rails at the metro station intersection. The tram track crossing needs careful work because many trains pass through daily. Aluminothermic welding helps workers join the rail pieces together. This welding method creates strong connections between metal sections. The process uses heat to melt materials and bond them permanently.
