Enyimba Football Club is hiring a new head coach. The nine-time Nigerian league champions will introduce Deji Ayeni as their technical adviser next week. He took over after the team suspended their previous coach, Stanley Eguma, back in November because of bad performances. An interim manager named Lawrence Ukaegbu has been running things since then from the club's base in Aba.
Ayeni is stepping into the job for the second half of the current season. He is fifty-three years old. His last coaching position was with Crown FC, a team in the lower division based in Ogbomosho. He also has experience with other top-flight clubs like Sunshine Stars and Akwa United.
