Polish studio Plot Twist has announced Erosion, an open-world roguelite. Set in a distant future where a sentient rock formation called the Pillar is consuming the world, players undertake dungeon runs to save a protagonist's daughter. Each death reduces the available time, permanently altering the story and world.
The gameplay alternates between chaotic, destructible dungeons with twin-stick combat and a handcrafted overworld for exploration. A central time jump mechanic means player decisions and deaths cause irreversible consequences, like villages being overrun. Eventually, players can travel back in time to undo choices and explore different timelines.
Erosion is scheduled for an early access release in Spring 2026 on PC platforms, including Game Pass, with console versions to follow. The developer plans a short early access period with rolling content updates and is considering cooperative gameplay and post-launch expansions.
