Ex-Eagles demand fix - Omeruo sees holes, Emenike wants a plan

Two former Super Eagles stars are calling for major defensive and tactical fixes. Ex-defender Kenneth Omeruo pointed directly at the leaky backline that has allowed three goals in two AFCON matches, urging coach Eric Chelle to stop the concessions. Former striker Emmanuel Emenike was more critical of the overall strategy, arguing the team lacks a clear game plan despite having talented players like Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.

Emenike noted how opponents like Tanzania specifically targeted defender Zaidu Sanusi, which led to their goal. He emphasized that simply fielding star names is not enough without a structured approach. Both legends shared their views as Nigeria prepares for its final group match against Uganda, having already secured advancement but with clear vulnerabilities. The team's offense has been productive, but the defensive lapses remain a consistent worry.
