Ex-ministers blast Tagwirei as ZANU-PF corruption kingpin

Two former cabinet ministers attacked a powerful businessman they call corrupt. Saviour Kasukuwere and Tendai Biti spoke out against Kudakwashe Tagwirei after he accused them of wrongdoing. The politicians say Tagwirei represents everything wrong with Zimbabwe's government. They worry his growing power inside the ruling ZANU-PF party threatens the country. Both men fear he wants to become a political leader.

Tagwirei runs Sakunda Holdings company that America sanctioned three years ago. The United States said his business helped government officials steal money through state contracts. Political experts believe he attends party events across Zimbabwe to build support for future leadership roles. Kasukuwere wrote angry messages about Tagwirei on social media. He said turning a thief into a leader betrays the party's founding principles.

The businessman stays close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and may want his job. Some reports suggest Tagwirei eyes the top ZANU-PF position when Mnangagwa's term ends in 2028. However, Tagwirei denies wanting succession and supports extending Mnangagwa's presidency beyond constitutional limits. Biti demands the government review all Treasury Bills from the past twenty years. He claims Tagwirei illegally took billions through secret deals.

Both former ministers promise to fight against corrupt leaders taking control of Zimbabwe. Biti says criminals will eventually face consequences when the country changes. Kasukuwere argues the historic party has become focused on making money rather than serving people. The debate shows deep divisions about ZANU-PF's future direction.
