Fake witch doctor busted after Mali lost to Senegal

A so-called witch doctor got busted for scamming soccer fans out of big money. Authorities in Mali arrested a marabout named Mr. Sinayogo after he promised rituals would ensure the national team's victory. The self-proclaimed spiritualist used social media and personal appeals to collect over thirty-three thousand euros from supporters. He claimed the funds would pay for special ceremonies to guarantee a win against Senegal and a semifinal place.

Mali lost the match one to zero, with a goal scored in the first half. Enraged fans who felt cheated then stormed the man's residence. Police intervened to protect him and ultimately took him into custody. The suspect now faces investigation for fraud and deception. Prosecutors are preparing charges for financial crimes and exploiting public belief in superstition.
