Amitabh Bachchan and veteran screenwriter Javed Akhtar exchanged banter with Farhan Akhtar on a recent episode of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. The makers released a promo on Monday showing Farhan reversing roles by asking questions to both men seated on the hot seat. When asked which quality they admired in each other, Akhtar praised Bachchan as unique within the film industry.
Bachchan recalled working with Farhan on the film Lakshya and described feeling like a novice when the director visited his room offering acting guidance. Javed Akhtar and partner Salim Khan wrote 12 consecutive blockbusters in the 1970s that established Bachchan as the angry young man persona. The screenwriting duo recommended Bachchan to filmmakers and helped him surpass Rajesh Khanna to become a major star.
