FC Platinum Midfielder Brian Banda Killed on Zvishavane-Bulawayo Highway

A Zimbabwe soccer player died Sunday after his car crashed on a major highway. Brian Banda played as an attacking midfielder for FC Platinum and was 29 years old. The accident happened along the road connecting Zvishavane and Bulawayo. Emergency responders found Banda dead at the crash scene. His team announced the tragic news through their social media accounts.

Banda had joined FC Platinum from Highlanders four years ago during 2020. He helped his new team win one league championship during his time with the Zvishavane club. The midfielder also earned a Chibuku Super Cup trophy with FC Platinum. His soccer career included success with his previous team as well. Banda had won the 2019 Chibuku Super Cup when he played for Highlanders.
