Finance Adviser Announces Successful Completion of Budget Preparation Using SABRE+

Bangladesh finance chief Salehuddin Ahmed announced that 72 government agencies finished their budgets using new computer software. The digital system called SABRE+ helped these groups plan their money for this year. Before this change, workers made budgets for only 49 groups using paper methods. The new approach makes financial planning easier and more open to public review. Officials want all government workers to see how taxpayer money gets spent.

The Finance Division created SABRE+ to track government spending and debt. This online tool helps agencies prepare budgets and measure their success. Government leaders can watch money flows as they happen. The system connects with other government databases to share information automatically. Workers no longer need to enter the same data multiple times.

SABRE+ started as a test program with 12 agencies back in September 2023. The system grew quickly to serve 72 groups for budget planning this year. It also tracks debt for 101 organizations and measures how well 20 agencies perform. The government hopes to add about 400 state groups to this database. Digital tools make budget work faster and more accurate than old paper systems.
