Five Armed Robbers Stab Guard, Steal 12 Tobacco Bales at Riplemade Farm

Police seek help finding five armed thieves who attacked a farm security guard Monday night. The criminals stole tobacco worth more than seven thousand dollars from Riplemade Farm near Rusape. Manicaland police confirmed the violent robbery through Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka. The masked attackers used machetes during their crime at the rural property. Officers want anyone with information about the suspects to come forward.

Simbarashe Kamunhukamwe was working as a security guard when the attack happened around 10 pm. The 38-year-old man had locked the farm gates earlier that evening at 6 pm. Five robbers wearing face masks found him and began beating him with weapons. One criminal stabbed Kamunhukamwe once on his back with a sharp object. The attackers took his mobile phone and the farm keys before tying him up.

The thieves covered the injured guard with a large sack after binding his hands and feet. One robber stayed behind to watch Kamunhukamwe during the theft operation. The other four criminals drove their vehicle to tobacco storage buildings on the property. They loaded twelve valuable tobacco bales into their unknown vehicle and escaped. Kamunhukamwe later jumped to a neighbor's house and reported the crime to Rusape Urban Police Station.
