A bus crash killed five people and hurt 25 others on Saturday morning near Dhaka. The accident happened when a passenger bus struck a truck on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. The victims were traveling to attend a political rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. Emergency responders found the crash scene around 3 AM in Srinagar Upazila of Munshiganj district.
The dead passengers included four political activists and one bus assistant. Jalal Uddin was 65 years old and served as a local union president. Zillur Rahman was also 65 and lived in Madhugram village. Golam Mostafa was 55 and worked as a district secretary for women and family issues. The bus helper Hasib Uddin was 30 years old.
