Flower power blooms in PyinOoLwin, city makeover in full swing

Myanmar's military chief rolled up to the national botanical gardens in PyinOoLwin and told officials he wants the whole city turned into a legit flower hub that exports blooms internationally. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing checked progress on the upcoming flower festival, and he pushed for better research on local varieties while testing foreign species that might thrive in the area's climate.

The general walked through the gardens and the lakeside path, dropping orders about durable tree selection and prettier flower arrangements along walkways. Officials upgraded the lake's circular path based on his earlier feedback, widening it from seven feet to twelve feet with safety fencing so people can stroll without worrying.

He stressed that PyinOoLwin's soil and water make it perfect for growing flowers everywhere, from parks to residential streets, and he wants forest coverage expanded in the southern part of town.
