Flydubai Chaos Strands St Pete Tourists in Dubai

St. Petersburg travelers became stranded after Flydubai canceled flights between Dubai and Russia. The airline stopped service because fighting broke out between Israel and Iran. Both countries closed their airspace to passenger planes. Flight routes normally pass through Iranian territory to reach the United Arab Emirates. Airlines cannot fly the usual paths during the conflict.

Flight FZ 992 was supposed to leave for Dubai at 12:25 AM Moscow time. The return flight FZ 991 should have arrived the night before at 11:25 PM. Pulkovo airport posted the cancellation information on their website. Passengers learned about the delays through official channels.

Reports say the Dubai flight might be delayed for two full days. Travel restrictions could last until June 26 according to news sources. Russian tourists complain they receive no updates about new departure times. Some visitors had to extend their hotel bookings because of the delays.

Russia's Foreign Ministry warned citizens to avoid visiting Iran and Israel. Travel experts estimate fewer than 500 Russian tourists remain in both countries. The conflict affects flight schedules across the Middle East region.
