Foreign dealers rush as jade auction sparks buying frenzy

Myanmar's state gem auction advanced through its eighth session as Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi oversaw the tender evaluation process for premium jade inventory at the Maniyadana Hall in the capital. Domestic and international buyers submitted sealed bids on 750 specimens categorized as Group C, with officials confirming 695 successful transactions through the competitive pricing system.

Merchants inspected numbered lots ranging from 3651 to 4400 before depositing their purchase proposals into designated collection boxes, with results scheduled for announcement the following morning. The Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation minister monitored the bid-opening proceedings while issuing operational guidance to staff managing the extended sales period that will conclude after two additional days of commercial activity.
