Former GIHOC MD Kofi Jumah Arrested Over Stolen Company Vehicles

Police arrested Maxwell Kofi Jumah at his Kumasi home on Sunday. National Security officers took the former GIHOC Distilleries boss into custody. They moved him to CID headquarters for questioning. Jumah once served as Member of Parliament and Kumasi Mayor. The arrest happened after GIHOC filed a complaint about missing company cars.

Deputy Commissioner Lydia Yaako Donkor leads the Criminal Investigation Department. She told reporters that GIHOC accused Jumah of taking their vehicles without permission. The company submitted a formal petition to police about the missing cars. Officers obtained a legal warrant before making the arrest. Donkor confirmed that proper procedures were followed during the operation.

Police have already found three vehicles that belonged to the company. Jumah cooperates with investigators as they continue their work. The recovered cars match the description of those reported missing. Donkor said the suspect helps answer questions about the case. Officers will proceed with their investigation based on evidence collected.

The former executive faces allegations of vehicle theft from his previous workplace. GIHOC Distilleries filed the original complaint that led to his arrest. Police continue gathering information about the missing company property. The case remains under active investigation at CID headquarters. Authorities will determine next steps after completing their review.
