Four killed in shooting at Owl Bar in Anaconda, Montana, suspect at large

Law enforcement officials confirmed that a fatal shooting at The Owl Bar resulted in four deaths on Friday. The incident occurred in Anaconda, a southwestern Montana city. Authorities identified Michael Paul Brown as the primary suspect in the attack. The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center warned residents that Brown remains armed and poses a significant threat. Officials urged citizens to avoid the Stumptown area and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Montana Highway Patrol deployed extensive resources west of Anaconda near Stumptown Road and Anderson Ranch Loop Road. Search operations continued as authorities pursued the dangerous suspect. Local business owners responded by securing their establishments and sheltering customers inside. Sage Huot kept children indoors at Caterpillars to Butterflies Childcare after receiving notification about the violence. Barbie Nelson closed the Firefly Cafe around 11 a.m. when friends alerted her to the situation, noting that the community lockdown left residents shaken despite their familiarity with firearms.
