Fuel prices across Kenya will stay exactly the same next month. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority shared this news Friday. Starting at midnight, you'll pay Sh176.58 for Super Petrol, Sh167.068 for Diesel, and Sh151.39 for Kerosene. These rates last until April 14, 2025.
The government includes several taxes in these amounts. Your purchase includes 16% Value Added Tax from the Finance Act 2023. The Tax Laws Amendment Act 2024 also affects what you pay. Inflation-adjusted excise duty rates apply based on Legal Notice No. 194 from 2020.
Different cities have slightly different pump prices. Mombasa drivers pay Sh173.34 per liter of super petrol, Nairobi drivers shell out Sh176.58, and Nakuru stations charge Sh175.80. Eldoret and Kisumu customers pay Sh176.62 for the same fuel.
Diesel costs vary by location as well. Mombasa has the lowest price at Sh163.82. Nairobi stations charge Sh167.06. Nakuru pumps ask for Sh166.63. Eldoret posts Sh167.45 prices. Kisumu dealers want Sh167.44 per liter. Kerosene runs Sh151.82 in Kisumu and Eldoret, Sh151.01 in Nakuru, Sh151.39 in Nairobi, and just Sh148.15 in Mombasa.
