Fugitive Hasina's RAJUK land grab detailed by bankers

Three Sonali Bank PLC officials testified in three cases against 53 people, among them ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Rehana, over plot irregularities in the RAJUK Purbachal New Town Project. They appeared at Dhaka Special Judge Court-4, and Judge Robiul Alam adjourned the hearings until Oct. 16, the Anti-Corruption Commission said. Separate proceedings on three cases against 47 people, among them Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, and her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, continue at Dhaka Special Judge Court-5, and charges were set on July 31, with arrest warrants issued. The ACC filed six cases between Jan. 12 and Jan. 14, 2025, submitted charge sheets on March 10, and the courts issued summons on July 1.
