Ueberschall just released their Funk Bass sample library, which works with the free Elastik player. Bass lovers can explore funky slap, fingerstyle, plectrum, and legato grooves, all ready to boost their music projects. The bass playing sounds tight, the production fits the style perfectly, and these grooves create an excellent foundation for any track development. Musicians looking for super-chic, super-freaky bass lines will find exactly what they need here.
The collection contains almost 500 loops and phrases, totaling 1.1 GB of quality audio material. All recordings were made at speeds ranging from 90 to 126 BPM. Every bass phrase extends four bars or lasts about ten seconds max. The creators used two different bass guitars during the recording sessions. Most samples came from a classic 1970 Musicman Stingray, but they recorded certain fingered and plectrum loops using a Fender Jazz Bass instead.
You'll find everything sorted by how the bassist played each part. The main categories include Fingered, Slap, Plectrum, and Legato sections. Each category contains up to 24 sub-groups with a maximum of 12 related performances per group. This smart organization helps users build longer phrases or create variations easily. Thanks to powerful algorithms in the Elastik player, you can combine performances across different folders for even more creative possibilities.
This library pairs excellently with other Ueberschall products like Funk Guitar and enhances music made with their Funk Up, Funk & Soul, or Brass Funk & Soul collections. Bass lines from this pack fit naturally into House, Disco, or RnB productions. Lars Lehmann played all electric bass parts for this collection. The entire package costs 59 Euros and includes the Elastik Player and Downloader software, eliminating the need for a separate sampler. It supports Mac and Windows computers through AU, VST, AAX, and standalone formats.
