Gachagua Pledges Gen Z Role in New Party Leadership

Political activist Kebaso Morara met with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday. They discussed several important matters regarding Kenyan politics and the necessary steps for substantial reforms. The meeting addressed growing concerns about youth unemployment throughout the country and ongoing human rights violations that many citizens have experienced.

Morara indicated this meeting represents one part of broader engagement efforts with various leaders. These communications aim to strengthen youth voices across Kenya. He stated his intention to continue discussions with representatives from different political, religious, and civic organizations. These conversations focus on amplifying younger generations seeking meaningful change.

Their meeting occurred shortly after both individuals participated in the launch event for the People's Liberation Party. This recent development coincides with public statements from Gachagua about his forthcoming political organization. He previously announced plans to select a younger person as his deputy when forming his new party structure.

Gachagua addressed media representatives at a roundtable event with Kamba speaking radio stations last Wednesday. He emphasized his commitment to substantial youth involvement within his political movement. Gachagua explained that combining his experience with the fresh perspectives of younger generations would create effective leadership. He mentioned that young people maintain confidence in him because he supported them during anti-government demonstrations.
