Fuse Games just announced Star Wars: Galactic Racer at The Game Awards, and the studio is packed with ex-Criterion devs who built Need for Speed and Burnout. The racing title drops on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S next year under Secret Mode's publishing wing, mixing pods with classic speeders instead of going full podracing mode.
This marks the sixth known Star Wars project in active development alongside Eclipse, KOTOR Remake, Fate of the Old Republic, Zero Company, and the third Jedi installment. Fuse wants each race to feel different with procedural elements that shake up every run. Players start as nobodies in the Outer Rim before climbing ranks in the Galactic League by customizing rides and building a reputation across the galaxy.
