Galaxy S25 Edge Slim Design Leaves Fans Fuming

Samsung made the Galaxy S25 Edge extremely thin at 5.8mm but had to make tough choices. The phone lacks a zoom camera and uses a smaller 3,900mAh battery compared to other phones. Blake Gaiser from Samsung America explained that smart AI software helps the phone use power better. The company decided regular lithium-ion batteries work fine for this device. Samsung thinks the AI features make up for the smaller battery size.

Chinese phone makers already use silicon-carbon batteries that hold more power. Samsung tested this technology but chose not to use it for the S25 Edge. Gaiser said the new processor and AI features improve battery performance enough. The company believes traditional batteries suit this particular phone model. Samsung continues watching new battery technologies for future phones.

Next year's Galaxy S26 Edge might feature silicon-carbon batteries after all. Reports suggest the S26 Ultra could pack a massive 7,000mAh battery with this technology. Samsung also develops solid-state batteries for watches and earbuds starting late 2025. Amazon currently sells the S25 Edge with $170 savings and a $50 gift card. The deal covers all colors and storage options with one-year warranty protection.
