Five armed attackers raided a funeral home in Kwekwe and stole three mobile phones valued at $410. The suspects climbed over a wall around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, before assaulting two security guards and three employees with iron bars and axes.
Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Emmanuel Mahoko said the assailants tied up the victims while searching for cash inside the business. The robbers took a Huawei Y9, a G-Tel Delta, and a Samsung A06 before escaping from the scene.
Police asked residents with information about the suspects to contact the nearest station. Mahoko said authorities launched a search for the attackers following the overnight theft at the mortuary facility.
