Democratic Progressive Party Central Region Vice President Alfred Gangata has called for greater opportunities for young people and women who contributed to the organization's electoral success. The minister of state indicated that supporters who dedicated time and resources during the campaign should receive priority consideration for jobs as recognition of their efforts toward the party's victory.
Gangata spoke at Chilimampunga Ground in Mtandire, Lilongwe, where he congratulated Alex Banda on his election as mayor of the capital city and acknowledged strong local backing that helped two party councillors win their races. The rally also marked a court ruling directing the Malawi Electoral Commission to announce the parliamentary winner for the constituency.
