Gen Damuliras rehab crew tears up Kampala like cowboys

Major General Christopher Damulira faces serious heat after videos showed gangs wearing ruling party shirts beating up people on Kampala streets. The police crime intelligence boss has been gathering street kids since 2020, telling everyone he wants to help them turn their lives around. He brought these groups to meet President Yoweri Museveni, claiming they were success stories of young people changing their ways. The president handed out almost 3 billion shillings to these groups through savings clubs that Damulira controlled. Damulira kept saying opposition politicians just used ghetto youth for protests without actually helping them.

More than 50 groups formed across different Kampala neighborhoods like Kamwokya, Kibuli, and Katwe areas. Other security officers warned Damulira he was creating another dangerous gang like the Boda Boda 2010 group that caused chaos until 2018. Some colleagues accused him of making money from the president's kindness toward these youth programs. One officer saw someone carrying bags of cash to the ghettos on Damulira's orders.

Saturday's attacks targeted people heading to Kololo for the president's nomination event. Police arrested some suspects and promised to catch more gang members who hurt innocent residents. The ruling party quickly said they never work with such violent groups and asked police chiefs to investigate who organized them. Retired police chief Grace Akullo got robbed at an ATM, and her injured son ended up hospitalized after the gang attacked their car. Security sources claim these same gangs caused trouble during recent elections.
