Germany's DDR5 RAM prices reach record high

DDR5 RAM just hit an all-time price high, and anyone planning a PC build is basically getting speedrun-robbed by the memory market. German retail data shows the price index climbing to 448 percent above year-ago levels, blowing past the prior peak of 440 percent and leaving the previous month's 419 reading in the dust.

Nearly every configuration took a hit this cycle, with 2x16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 and 2x16 GB DDR5-7200+ kits absorbing the worst month-over-month damage at roughly 16 to 17 percent. A handful of SKUs like the 2x48 GB DDR5-6400 and 2x24 GB DDR5-7200 dodged the hike, but the broader trend shows almost no escape from the RAMpocalypse.

Year over year, the 2x16 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 kit alone has ballooned by 267 percent, and a German tech tracker pegs the overall multiplier at roughly 4X versus twelve months back. For anyone eyeing an upgrade or a fresh rig, the math is genuinely punishing, and there is zero indication the bleeding will slow anytime soon.
