Ghana Football Association officials will stage a testimonial match honoring retired striker Asamoah Gyan, according to Black Stars Team Manager Ameenu Shardow, who described the recognition as overdue for the nation's record goal scorer. The federation revealed its intentions on Tuesday, Nov. 4, to celebrate Gyan's achievements through a special fixture. Shardow told Joy Sports that recognizing distinguished athletes demonstrates national gratitude and motivates current players to maximize their efforts for the team.
Gyan concluded his international career in 2023 after amassing 51 goals across 109 national team appearances.
