Ghana and China ignite $15B trade gold rush

Ghana and China just made their business partnership even stronger. The two countries trade goods worth eleven billion dollars every year. Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa met with Chinese officials from Nanning city. He told them the trade could grow to fifteen billion dollars soon. China buys more from Ghana than any other country does.

Ablakwa wants Chinese cities to team up with Ghanaian cities. The partnerships would help both countries learn from each other. Chinese officials could teach Ghanaians about city planning and technology. Ghanaian leaders would share their knowledge about farming and culture. Vice Mayor Guo Wei loved the idea of connecting their cities together.

The minister gave the Chinese visitors a serious warning about illegal mining. He said Ghana welcomes foreign investors but criminals will face punishment. Many Chinese people have been caught mining gold without permits. Ablakwa wants Nanning officials to tell their citizens about the mining laws. Ghana will arrest anyone who breaks the environmental rules.

Guo Wei promised his city wants to work closer with Ghana. He brought a team to attend a big Africa trade show. The Chinese official talked about cooperation in farming, mining, and business development. Both countries agreed to strengthen their friendship. The meeting ended with promises to build better relationships between their people.
