Ghana Link Trade Mess Could Crash Economy

A political group wants Ghana's government to end its deal with Ghana Link Network Services. The New Voter Forum states that the company has failed to fulfill its responsibilities properly. The group believes Ghana Link runs a broken computer system for customs. This system handles trade paperwork at ports and borders. The group claims the system hurts Ghana's ability to compete with other countries.

Conqueror Mawudzo Korto leads the New Voter Forum. He says the customs system does not work well. The system causes delays and costs money. Korto wants experts to review the contract immediately. He believes the problems pose a threat to Ghana's economy.

The group asks many people to help fight this issue. They want lawmakers, reporters, and citizen groups to take action. Korto says staying quiet about this problem helps make bad government decisions. He warns that the broken system damages Ghana's trade reputation.

The group hopes that President John Dramani Mahama will resolve these contract issues. They want better rules for government deals with private companies. The group says Ghana cannot let poor contracts hurt the country's future.
