Ghana ORC took business formalization drive to Jubilee House

Ghana's Registrar of Companies just walked into Jubilee House and pitched the VP directly on dragging the informal sector into the formal economy. Maame Samma Peprah led an ORC delegation to meet Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang in Accra, laying out active reforms and nationwide registration clinics aimed at getting unregistered entrepreneurs to register and go legit.

The pitch centered on breaking down barriers that keep small operators off the books, with Peprah emphasizing perks like credit access, legal protection, and a shot at Ghana's growing formal market. Opoku-Agyemang backed the effort, pushing the ORC to simplify processes further and get louder about its wins to build public trust and drive voluntary compliance.

Peprah brought Deputy Registrar Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyankpenu and heads of legal, admin, and PPRME along for the sit-down. The VP's side included Chief of Staff Alex Percival Segbefia and policy adviser Samuel Ofosu Ampofo. Both sides walked away reaffirming a shared push toward easier business registration and broader enterprise growth across the country.
