Chinese university leaders visited Ghana's Education Ministry on Friday to talk about working together. Deputy Education Minister Dr. Clement Apaak met with the team from Fujian Jiangxia University. He welcomed them and said Ghana feels happy that the Chinese school picked Ghana as a partner. Dr. Apaak told the visitors that Ghana stays peaceful and stable. He said both countries can help each other learn new things.
Mr. Ling Qidan leads Fujian Jiangxia University and brought four other people with him. Professor Zhang Yongpeng, Professor Zheng, Secretary Jiang, and Dr. Samuel Kofi Darkwa came along for the trip. Mr. Ling explained that his university teaches Chinese language very well. The school also does great work with farming, building things, and arts subjects. Students from both countries will benefit from sharing knowledge.
The Chinese university wants to give money to Ghanaian students for school fees. Teachers and students will travel between the two countries to study and teach. Both schools plan to work together on language teaching, computer science, engineering, farming, and money matters. Fujian Jiangxia University already partners with schools from America, Britain, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Finland.
Several Ghana education officials joined the meeting to help with talks. Chief Director Mamle Andrews, GTEC head Professor Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, and Tertiary Education Director Emmanuel Newman supported Dr. Apaak during discussions. The partnership could open new doors for Ghanaian students wanting to study abroad.
