Rich Ghanaian businessman Dr. Daniel McKorley believes no musician in Africa matches the talent of Ghanaian stars Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale. The McDan Group leader spoke his mind during a recent talk with an NY DJ on BTM Afrika. As a big fan of both artists, he praised their unique abilities and how they commanded the stage better than anyone else on the continent.
McKorley flat-out said Nigerian artists cannot compete with Shatta and Stonebwoy despite having talent themselves. He called their performances and music totally amazing. These stars have already made names for themselves, but McKorley thinks business people like him should step up with cash support right away.
He feels strongly that these musicians represent Ghana around the world as unofficial ambassadors. McKorley wants wealthy Ghanaians to back these artists with serious money. Though music sits outside his main business focus, he mentioned seeing several promising young talents coming up through the ranks.
McKorley already puts his money where his mouth is. In 2022, he handed a $2 million contract to ImageBureau, a marketing company owned by Ghanaian actor George Quaye. This shows that McKorley already supports the entertainment world in Ghana with substantial cash.
