Gunmen kidnapped local officials from Kwara State on Friday evening on the Omu-Aran/Ilorin Road. The head lawyer of Oke-Ero Local Government, Elizabeth Arinde, was taken with another department head as they traveled home for the weekend. Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said about five armed men stopped two cars at Eleyin village near Isanlu-Isin around 5:45 p.m. The attackers forced seven people into the nearby woods.
