Google Beam Tech Lets You Teleport to Video Calls

At its 2025 developer conference, Google changed Project Starline into a new product called Beam. The company uses artificial intelligence to make video calls feel more real. Beam creates three-dimensional conversations that make people appear as if they sit across from each other. Six cameras capture different angles of each person during calls. Enterprise customers can try Beam later this year.

Sundar Pichai announced the video technology during his presentation to developers. The system reduces delays that make conversations feel choppy or unnatural. Special displays show depth and dimension instead of flat video screens. Users maintain natural eye contact through advanced light technology. Google Cloud handles the complex computer processing needed for realistic calls.

The search giant partnered with HP and Zoom to bring Beam to business offices. Major companies like Deloitte want to test the new calling system. Google expects businesses to pay premium prices for the advanced hardware and software. The technology could change how remote workers communicate with their teams. Beam represents the future of video calling for large corporations.
