UK gospel star Eleana Makombe earned four nominations at the Ezekiel Guti Legacy Awards. The ceremony happens May 3 at Braeside Zaoga Church in Harare during the Legacy Musical Show.
She competes in the Best Gospel Artist, Best Music Video, Best Song, and People's Choice categories. Her rivals include Sir Benjamin Rupapa, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Vocal Base, Probity Mutsambiwa, Pastor Lavy Mlilo, and Melissa Makwasha. The awards honor Zimbabwean members of Zaoga Forward in Faith worldwide, and voting has already started.
Makombe expressed surprise about her nominations. "I would say this is God, and thank you for the nomination," she said. She asked fans to vote and help "bring the gongs home." After returning to Zimbabwe, she recently performed at the Easter Resurrection Rhapsody event at Glamis Arena.
Her Zimbabwe trip is part of her music career, not a vacation. "I came back for the music business as usual," she said. She started rehearsals for her May 31 Grateful concert in the UK. Makombe values the support from her Zimbabwe-based band as she works on upcoming projects.
