Government urges youth to lead economic growth at business summit

The government has called on young people to lead economic development as part of its ongoing support for entrepreneurship nationwide. Business owners from across Matabeleland South Province convened on Friday at Wellton Primary School in Beitbridge for a summit featuring networking, idea exchange, and recognition of top performers.

Award recipients highlighted the importance of innovation, tax compliance, and thinking creatively to strengthen the economy. Government representatives stressed that national progress depends on citizen engagement and collaboration.

Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Vice President, Dr. Benson Dube, noted that the event reflects the administration’s belief that a government’s success lies in its people. He described the summit as a showcase of shared purpose and partnership, aligned to achieve Vision 2030 while ensuring inclusive growth. The gathering coincides with broader efforts to improve the business environment and empower entrepreneurs across Zimbabwe.
