Govt Tackles Harvest Fumbles in Bold Crop Loss Crackdown

The government wants to help farmers save more of their crops. Many farmers lose their food when machines called combine harvesters don't work well. These machines sometimes drop food on the ground instead of picking it all up.

Smart people who know about farming machines are meeting in a place called Chinhoyi. They want to teach farmers better ways to use their machines. These teachers come from different parts of Zimbabwe and want to make eleven new lessons for farmers.

Engineer Edwin Zimunya studies how farmers lose their food. He found out that farmers lose thirty percent of their crops during harvest time. He thinks farmers need better rules about using their machines. He wants special groups to check these rules and make sure everyone follows them.

The amount of food farmers grow decides how much money they make. The government gave six million dollars to help small farmers buy good machines. They created a special group called the Agricultural Mechanisation Alliance to make this happen.

These changes will help farmers keep more of their food and make more money from their hard work. The new lessons will teach them the right ways to use their machines and save their crops.
