Govt Wastes 10 Million on Flooded Stadium

The government reportedly spent around $10 million on Independence Day celebrations that quickly turned embarrassing. Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe had boasted about creating a modern, fully equipped stadium at Mutora growth point.

When the big day arrived, the event became a disaster. Heavy rains exposed serious construction problems. The stadium's poor drainage system left the grounds completely waterlogged, creating muddy conditions that disrupted security force parades.

Things got worse as the celebration progressed. Newly installed bucket seats started falling apart before the event finished. Social media quickly filled with videos showing the stadium's poor condition, highlighting the massive waste of public funds.

The minister's claims of infrastructure improvement crumbled faster than the stadium's infrastructure. What was supposed to be a proud national celebration became a public demonstration of poor planning and substandard construction work.

Taxpayers watched as millions of dollars vanished into a muddy, broken mess. The Independence Day event became a stark reminder of how government spending can go dramatically wrong when proper care and quality are ignored.
